Spring Campaign for the Lifelong Learning Fund
The 2017-18 school year has been quite a journey for Stepping Stones. I’m excited to share that we will be opening our farm-based middle school in the fall. At the same time, we will be kicking off a celebration of our 35th year as a school. It is quite satisfying to know that we have brought the vision of our founders to realization with regard to grades seven through nine.
Broadly, the spring appeal helps cover the gap between operating expenses and tuition revenue. This year’s gap was $260,000. A portion of that was filled by the auction and end-of-year appeal, but more is still needed. There are three key areas of need that our spring appeal will address:
· $26,000 to cover our Creative Arts Budget. $11,000 of this is the cost of our spring opera, Sing Me Home, which bolsters our music and creative arts program by bringing a full production to the stage. The spring opera teaches teamwork, vulnerability, and the joy of overcoming a team challenge
· $27,000 to fully fund our financial aid program, which currently assists 17 students (about 10 percent of our student population)
· $23,000 to cover the cost of professional development for the amazingly dedicated guides who lead our children. Our teachers do not make as much as teachers in other schools, and I feel very strongly that offering opportunities for them to learn and grow is important for us to fund.
We’re excited to share that we have a matching fund for this year’s appeal! We have received commitments of $36,000 to match donations to the school through May 31. That means that every dollar you give is doubled in impact to the school. Act now to make your dollars go further!
We are grateful for the generous support of our families and friends. Every gift, no matter how big or small, makes an impact on our community. If you would like to make a donation to the Lifelong Learning Fund, please do so by clicking the button below:
