“It is the part of wisdom to recognize what each one of us is best fitted for, and it is the part of education to perfect and utilize such predispositions.”

— Maria Montessori

The Future Of Our Community

In Montessori classrooms around the world, work progresses step-by-step. From left to right and top to bottom, our younger children use Montessori materials to build their brains through sensory learning. In elementary environments, children experience lessons through stories, developing their minds through adventure to abstract thought. In adolescent programs, students enrich their rapidly maturing brains with experiential learning. Each step of Montessori education depends on those that came before.

Stepping Stones Montessori School is also evolving step-by-step. For almost 40 years, our school has continued to prepare environments for children—and now adolescents—to grow into fully-expressed learners. Behind the scenes, we’ve also worked to create a strategic plan, develop a facilities plan, and move salaries closer to prevailing market wages.

Because Of Your Donations

We were able to complete an Asbestos Abatement in our Children’s House building. This happened during the summer of 2021 and our space received an upgrade of new paint and flooring. Our community is so grateful for a fresh space and appreciates continuously improving our environment. We were also able to replace the roof on the Children's House building in addition to installing energy-efficient lighting.

Stepping Stones buildings were constructed in 1961 as the original Kendall College of Arts campus. The primary heat source was the original boiler which required frequent and extensive repairs. The boiler was replaced in 2022 and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Cooling) was installed in both buildings over the summer of 2023 with your generous support.
