Peaceful Spaces:
A Celebration of Purposeful Learning
NEW SPACES. SAME MONTESSORI SPIRIT.
Picture of our Donor Wall
For generations, Stepping Stones Montessori has been creating spaces where children can explore, concentrate, collaborate, and grow.
This summer, our Elementary Building received an important transformation—bringing a 1950s-era building into the future with:
- Critical asbestos abatement and infrastructure updates
- New flooring and energy-efficient lighting
- Updated classroom spaces and expanded kitchenettes
- Enhanced safety and security
- A welcoming new entrance
- Peaceful, functional environments designed to support Montessori learning
This work was made possible through the generosity of our families, alumni, foundations, donors, and friends of Stepping Stones.
Now, Let's Celebrate!
After months of renovation, we're opening our doors and inviting our Stepping Stones community to experience the newly renewed spaces created for peaceful, purposeful learning.

Media Opportunity
Members of the media are invited to attend the Grand Reopening for tours, interviews, photography, and video opportunities. Stepping Stones can also arrange for Head of School, Jan Reed, or a Montessori-trained educator to participate in local television, radio, podcast, or streaming interviews to discuss Montessori education, the importance of prepared environments, and the school's newly renovated spaces.
“When we talk about a prepared environment in Montessori, we are talking about much more than beautiful classrooms.” We are creating spaces that communicate to children that they are capable, respected, and valued. This renovation allows us to provide an environment that is safer, more functional, more energy efficient, and better aligned with the way children learn best. As a certified Michigan EGLE Green School, we are also committed to making thoughtful choices that support environmental stewardship and sustainability. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.”
